How To Connect Scenic To Apple CarPlay

Scenic is a motorcycle navigation app. That’s quite obvious. But can you use Scenic with Apple CarPlay?

We recently asked our community to share their ideas for new Scenic features. A requested feature that popped up frequently was CarPlay compatibility. Well, I’m happy to let you know Scenic is already compatible with CarPlay. Let’s run you through it.

Does Scenic support CarPlay?

Yes! Scenic is compatible with Apple CarPlay. 

If you have the latest version of Scenic, our icon should appear on your CarPlay display – making it easy to connect. If you don’t, it’s time to update your app.

Why does Scenic support CarPlay?

The next question; why was CarPlay highly requested? Well…

• some of our users have CarPlay on their motorcycles from the factory (Africa Twin, Goldwing, some Indian models, and some HD models as well).
• a lot of our users are purchasing 3rd party CarPlay displays (read this thread on our forum before you purchase, as there are some teething problems with these units)
• many users enjoy using Scenic to navigate while driving too!

How do you link Scenic to CarPlay?

Linking Scenic to your CarPlay is easy. If you don’t see the Scenic icon on your CarPlay display, it’s likely you’re not running the latest version. Here’s what you need to do:

Update Scenic: Visit the App Store on your device and make sure you have the latest version of Scenic installed. Keeping your app up to date ensures you’re always enjoying the latest features and improvements.

Connect to CarPlay: Once you have the latest Scenic version, connect your device to your CarPlay system. Your CarPlay interface should now display the Scenic icon, ready to guide you on your next adventure.

What are the benefits of using Scenic with CarPlay?

Scenic’s compatibility with CarPlay brings a host of advantages to your riding experience:

• Seamless Integration: With Scenic on your CarPlay, you have easy access to most of Scenic’s features right from your dashboard. No more fumbling with your phone while riding; everything you need is at your fingertips.
• Enhanced Safety: CarPlay is designed to minimize distractions, and when you use Scenic with CarPlay, you can keep your focus on the road while enjoying turn-by-turn directions, points of interest, and more, all conveniently displayed on your vehicle’s screen.
• Voice Commands: CarPlay supports voice commands, allowing you to control Scenic with just your voice. Need directions to a specific destination? Simply ask, and CarPlay will connect you with Scenic to guide the way.
• Easier Route Planning: Planning your routes with Scenic is now even more convenient. Use your CarPlay display to select your destinations or a pre-planned route, and make some basic alterations to your route along the way.
• Avoid breaking your iPhone camera: The vibrations of your motorcycle can harm the stabilization sensors of your iPhone cameras. While there are solutions for this, like the Quad Lock Vibration Dampener (read my review here), you can eliminate this risk altogether with a CarPlay unit.
