Luckily, we’ve introduced one of the most anticipated features just in time for summer: Safety Camera Warnings. Let’s run you through it.

What are safety camera warnings?

The safety camera warnings feature will now tell Scenic users in real time about upcoming cameras. This includes both:

  • Red light cameras.
  • Speed cameras.

With safety camera detection, you’ll stay safe and help avoid costly fines.

Where are safety camera warnings available?

This feature is available in most countries. Safety camera coverage includes:

  • United States of America
  • United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland
  • United Arab Emirates
  • Turkey
  • Thailand
  • Taiwan
  • Sweden
  • Spain
  • South Africa
  • Slovenia
  • Slovakia
  • Singapore
  • Serbia
  • Saudi Arabia
  • Russian Federation
  • Romania
  • Qatar
  • Portugal
  • Poland
  • Oman
  • Norway
  • Netherlands
  • Mexico
  • Malaysia
  • Macao
  • Luxembourg
  • Lithuania
  • Latvia
  • Kuwait
  • Kazakhstan
  • Italy
  • Israel
  • Isle of Man
  • Iceland
  • Hungary
  • Hong Kong
  • Greece
  • France
  • Finland
  • Estonia
  • Denmark
  • Czechia
  • Cyprus
  • Croatia
  • Chile
  • Canada
  • Bulgaria
  • Brazil
  • Bosnia and Herzegovina
  • Belgium
  • Belarus
  • Bahrain
  • Azerbaijan
  • Austria
  • Argentina
  • Andorra

Due to legal restrictions, however, there are a select number of countries where safety camera warnings are NOT available.

Notable omissions include Germany, Switzerland and Australia. Also note that in France, again due to legal restrictions, you only get “approximate” warnings. You’ll get an alert when you enter a “danger” area, which is typically an area where there’s a speed camera. You won’t get or see the exact location of the camera in France.

How do safety camera warnings work?

Safety camera warnings are easy to toggle on and off. There are two elements to this:

1: Make the camera locations visible on the map:

  1. Open the Map Layers menu on the main screen.
  2. The Safety Cameras option will be under the ‘Built-in Layers’ section.
  3. Toggle whether you want to see Safety Camera visible on the map while planning, and/or visible while navigating.

2: Enable safety camera warnings:

Safety camera warnings are visible and audible warning when you approach a safety camera or when you enter and leave an average speed check zone. Warnings are OFF by default. To turn them on:

  1. Go to Settings through the side menu
  2. Enter the “Navigation & Tracking” section
  3. Then enable the “Speed Camera Warning” switch and accept the risk.

What are the benefits of safety camera warnings?

This new feature brings so many added benefits to your riding experience, like:

  • Increased safety. Safety camera warnings keep you one step ahead of intersections and potential hazards, reducing the risk of accidents caused by sudden stops.
  • Avoiding fines. Real-time alerts keep you in check, and stops you from going over the speed limit or riding through red lights.
  • Peace of mind. With safety camera warnings, you can focus on what’s really important – riding.

How can I get safety camera warnings?

Safety camera warnings are available with Scenic Premium. Once you have premium activated, you will automatically be able to toggle these warnings on or off in the Settings menu.

Want to try before you buy? Try Premium for free to get safety camera warnings plus a heap of other features.

    Hallo,

Hallo Uli, Ich verstehe.
