Why does scenic not follow a planned route?

I have ridden this route several times and every time scenic Ross me to stand on I 17 below the indicated exit. Is there a setting I need to be aware of? No I do not go off route so it is not a detour.

Sorry, I just noticed my typos. So, every time Scenic has re-routed to continue south on I-17 below the planned exit.

Do you mean the exit before via point 8?

Do you have auto-skip via points turned on? (Settings > Navigation & Tracking > Detour behaviour). If so, this could be the reason. Perhaps Scenic thinks you went off route a few times, triggering an auto-skip, removing via point 8. When via 8 is removed it will take the next exit to go to Via 9 (which became via 8 in the screenshot below).

Even if you did not deviate from the route, GPS inaccuracies, or inaccuracies in the map data could cause a recalculation as well. To decrease the chance of a "phantom" recalculation you could increase the threshold distance in Settings > Finetuning > Route recalculation parameters.
