When will the app be ready for non-Mac desktop users?
Quote from Suzukiguy on 13.08.2024, 17:54I've searched and cannot find anywhere that gives an expected date for when the scenic app will be available for non-Mac desktop users. I LOVE the scenic app on my iphone but it is too small to effectively use to plan a route.
Am I missing something, or is there an expected date that non-Mac users can expect to be able to use the app on their desktops?

Quote from jimbojsb on 13.08.2024, 17:56That seems extremely unlikely to ever happen given the Mac app is really just the iPad app. But, do your planning in Google MyMaps and import from there.

Until it's available, there are many 3rd party solutions you can plan your route in, and then import into Scenic. Perhaps the easiest and most known is Google Maps. Here's a short video on how this works: https://scenic.app/help/import-from-google-maps/?seq_no=2
There are other ways and sources you can get routes into Scenic: https://scenic.app/help/ways-sources-to-import/
Hope this helps/explains. If not, please let me know if you have other questions. Happy to help.
Best regards and ride safe,
Guido

Before I started using Scenic I was using the web based version of MRA (My Route App). It too has an excellent route planner and can export GPX files in various formats.
I used to use it when I was running the Garmin Zumo XT. But now that I have the Chigee AIO-5 set up on the bike, it's Scenic and CarPlay. And even with this I still use Google Maps on occasion to export GPX files for importing via the Scenic web app feature accessed via this website. Usually this is done when someone else has generated a route and sent it either via GPX or as a copy/paste URL which Scenic Web App also supports.
Guido has made it SUPER easy for us to plan our trips without having to use a mobile phone to do so.

Looks like I will have to get better at using Google maps.
This app is GREAT, even with my limited technological computer skills! Love the tracking and ride saving ability.
Edit: WOW! Copying the url from Google maps works great! Even someone as challenged as I can be at times can do it! Thanks!

Quote from Guido on 21.08.2024, 16:0910 waypoints in the left hand panel yes, I believe so. But by grabbing and dragging the route you can shape the route more. These "drag points" won't show up in the left had panel, but will turn into vias in Scenic.
