Visibility of new maps while riding
Quote from Ledo on 02.11.2021, 06:51The big factor for me to choose Scenic 2 over it's competitors was the high contrast view of the maps which made it easy to see in the daylight (and night) when mounted to the bike. I was excited about Scenic 3 and now regret upgrading since I can no longer easily see the map on my iphone. I found myself bending down, squinting, and taking more time than usual trying to see the map nearly causing an accident. Please make the maps easier to see when in use. Until then, Scenic 3 is a safety issue for me. Other than map visibility, I found Scenic to be the best in its class.

I understand your point. And you are not the first one mentioning this.
Currently Scenic 3 only contains the ‘out of the box’ map styles from the new map provider.
Additional map styles will be added very soon. Later, a functionality to create your own personalized custom style will be added as well.

Quote from SamBuka on 09.11.2021, 10:53I noticed the same issue. Sun is low in sky in the north this time of year, so got away with it, but need better contrast for summer. Current scenic 3 contrast does not cut it. Will try to use dark map next opportunity, and look forward to update to get back to the future.

Quote from Kam on 17.12.2021, 14:56I concur with Ledo's original post. The contrast and overall Map visibility was much easier on my eyes in previous Scenic version ( 2.0) . I have a hard time Recording a ride while trying to view white roads and white background. Moreover, I wish Scenic would either increase the size of road names, width of roads, and make the directional navigation icon bigger. A pointed Arrow icon would be great.
In general I like the look and feel of previous Scenic maps. Hard to articulate unless I had a side by side compression. Unfortunately I upgraded to version 3.0. I some ways, I wish Scenic would have a sweeping navigation route that looks wide like Zumo. You can quickly glance navigation device and see which way to turn or next turn is coming up.
Having something like accessibility feature for those of us who have hard time seeing would be great. I wear readers built into my sunglasses / glasses. I can see my Garmin and my KTM 890 Adventure TFT screen. I was hoping the new version of Scenic would have the same contrast and Text size feature. We're not all 20 something anymore.
In the meantime, I'll play around with the nighttime mode. Ultimately if I cannot see the Scenic screen and maps adequately, I probably won't use it as much.

Quote from Candubrain on 25.04.2022, 18:40Scenic is still my favourite navigation app and now with the ability to adjust colours to my preference to aid in viewing while riding is a big plus.
Now that I've put you on a pedestal Guido, what is your favourite set up for best contrast? Better yet, I suggest you put Guido's Map Set up as an optional pick.

Quote from Kam on 01.05.2022, 16:40Is Guido's Maps Set come with latest Scenic? Or do you have to download it and if so can you post link?
I assume Guido's Map Set is a customized look?

Quote from Guido on 01.05.2022, 17:30No there are no pre-styled custom map styles. I believe what’s meant with “Guido’s Map Set” are just the ability to create your custom maps.
In this forum topic a few users have shared some styles though: https://scenic.app/forum/topic/custom-map-styles/
