For practice, everything up to date, set a route I’ve know for decades. Up and down three ridges (Walker, Brushy, Clinch)with numerous steep 160-180 turns. Twice. Absolutely zero side roads or trails. Eight deer and one black bear.
90% of those switchback turns showed up as coming turns. Repeat. Zero side roads.

Quote from Guido on 08.07.2025, 06:03Hmmm. OK. I'll have a look. Do you happen to have this route saved? If so, could you share it with me? (select route from route list > 3-dots button top right > share link)

Quote from clarkml72 on 08.07.2025, 13:21I ride in North GA, TN and NC mostly, would love to get up to Virgina :). However just wanted to chime in that I too get the turn left or right but it is not a turn, just a sharp corner, sometimes not even that sharp.

there may be historic logging skidways at some switchbacks.

Quote from Guido on 13.07.2025, 01:38Are there via points on the switchbacks? If so, have a look at this forum topic as it will cover the same topic. If not.. then it's a different issue, but the workaround I'm doing there would help too. https://scenic.app/forum/topic/superfluous-voice-announcements-at-a-via-point

Quote from Maercker on 13.07.2025, 05:55I get these all the time TN , Smokie foothills. I believe most of the time there is a driveway or something to cause this, but if you are staying on same road it should be turn, not upcoming corner, especially when it is something like a driveway that is such a lessor road. But actually it is common with all Gps maps I use in vehicles ( waze, apple & google maps) all have turns or slight turns etc to stay on the road you are on.

Quote from oldNNtheway on 14.07.2025, 07:12No vias on switchbacks ever.
Looks to be analogous to the linked previous discussion. I do not use audio. Only visual. Turn direction arrows where the route is simply following the only road on the map.
This is not a problem for me. I seldom actually plan a ride, simply scroll the map. Now that graphic controls are back with a topo layer it is perfect again.

Quote from oldNNtheway on 14.07.2025, 07:25I am using the word “turn” to mean leaving one road to be on a different road. Not using it to mean change compass bearing.
