Scenic likes to turn around ?

Hello Guido, hello everyone,

On a ride a few days ago in a corner of France, I want to go home at a distance of about 100 km.

I ask Scenic (4.22, with CarPlay) to calculate the route for me, which it does perfectly, the route is direct. The journey begins, I follow the navigation instructions via CarPlay, no problem, no detours.

All of a sudden, my passenger tells me "we have already been here! ". I stop, I check, yes indeed, we have already passed. I look at the trace on Scénic, we have made an unplanned loop in the route.

Finally, I finished my trip with Waze…

Has anyone been faced with this problem? Why did Scenic act like this?

Was the route planned with Curvy routing? If so, curvy routing ads via points, and if you miss one, Scenic will relentlessly try to guide you back to that missed via point. More info here: https://scenic.app/help/detour-behaviour-scenic/

It was indeed a curvy routing. I don’t remember having missed a waypoint (in this case, it seems that scenic displays a warning) , and the turn around is somewhat large…

i don’t remember if auto skip waypoint was selected…
