Scenic + Cardo Spririt Intercom - Bluetooth Conflict?
Quote from transalp2024 on 10.08.2024, 16:18I'm curious if anyone has had issues using Scenic and the Cardo Spirit intercom at the same time. I've been on several rides using the intercom on the Cardo with another rider. Today was the first time using Cardo with scenic navigation. Throughout the ride when navigation would play (directions), it would disconnect the intercom connection with the other rider. It makes sense that when directions are playing it would pause the intercom but very often it would break the intercom pairing and probably a dozen times I had to reconnect the pairing. And it would reconnect but then break again. It got reall frustrating. I tried for a while without scenic navigating / playing directions and had no issues with the Cardo intercom staying connected. As I understand it, Cardo uses two bluetooth connections and both were paired. Curious if anyone has thoughts on settings that might prevent this. At a min, if I could disconnect playing the Scenic directions (which wouldn't be ideal) I'd choose that versus having to reconnect the intercom throughout the ride.

Quote from Guido on 10.08.2024, 18:05I have a cardo Freecom 4x myself (also 2’bluetooth connections) and had no problems so far.
A few things you can try:
- try changing the voice mode by LONG- pressing on the speaker button in the navigation (big button) menu. Here ‘s a help article with screenshots: https://scenic.app/help/low-voice-volume/
- check that voice output (settings > sound & haptics) is set to device default
- also check the manual of your cardonspirit to see if you there is a setting to change the behaviour (probably something to do with priorities)
To turn off the audible navigation instructions, single-tap the speaker button mention in the first bullet. That will toggle between sound off, alerts only and sound on.
Let me know if none of this helps.
Cheers,
Guido

The manual of the Cardo Spirit shows on Chapter 7 how the unit handles multiple connections. They say it might not work and depends on the units you connect.
In my case (Packtalk Black) i set it to:
Navigation first, intercom second, music third. No issues so far, but took me a while to get it running.
While we ride we normally use a mesh group. No pairing needed, reconnects automatically even in the morning.
But the Spirit seems to have no mesh. Nothing mentioned in the manual.
Try to use the Cardo app and look for new firmware as well. Set the priorities like mentioned in the manual.
Ride safe, Mex
