Planning route: search function bug
Quote from efreitag on 17.12.2024, 14:32Dear Guido,
I‘m frequently experiencing a particular problem using the search function while planning a route:
When I tap on “search”, the respective window pops up from the bottom of the screen, but immediately disappears again. No chance to actually tap on a POI or enter a search term, for example.
For what it’s worth: I’m on 4.09, but the problem was there before.
Regards, Erik

It looks like the search panel is being pushed down again as soon as the map displayed in the background is moved/redrawn.
Best, Martin

Quote from Guido on 22.01.2025, 12:12Wow... thanks very much Martin. I had problems reproducing this. Now I know this was because I was testing behind my desk (not moving / no new locations received). As soon as I start moving (and the map moves as a result), the search panel disappears. Now I know what the cause is... I'll have this fixed in the next update early next week.

Quote from efreitag on 22.01.2025, 12:50Indeed, that’s it! I wasn’t really moving either, but holding the phone in my hand seems to be enough to trigger the behaviour. When I put the phone on the desk, the search function works fine!
Thanks a lot, both of you!

Quote from Guido on 22.01.2025, 12:52Correction...it's not the movement... it's an oversensitivity for device rotation between portrait and landscape. (The search panel closes when rotation takes place, but currently the 'rotation' signal is even given for smaller movements that "might" mean the device will rotate (but is actually not).
