Newbie routing question
So, here is a route planned and it appears to be directing the route onto a ferry (turned on to allow) so that isn’t an issue but then it also seems to show the route backtracking and going around (marked with a “?”) to the left.
Can anyone explain what is happening and why it doesn’t show the route going across the sound on the ferry?

Selecting either: Short or Beauty forces the route to take the ferry and eliminates the back tracking.
Thanks...yes, that's what I needed.
Did some investigation... so. When you chose curvy, it ads via points and then uses the "standard" routing to connect all the via points. The problem here is that, according to the standard routing, going around, not taking the ferry, is faster, and thus is chooses that. Look:
Standard routing, 56 minutes:
Short routing (3hr 43min):
As a workaround you can drop an extra via point on top of the ferry line. That will force it to take the ferry:
