Mix highway and non highway while creating a route
Quote from Flosch on 12.04.2023, 13:51Hello,
I would like to know, if it is possible to mix highway and non highway roads for my route using scenic.
Since I am planning to travel germany from north to south I would like to have a mainly curvy road but to speed things up I would like to use highways every now and then to make progress faster before going off highway to continue my ride.
when I create a curvy road and add via points on the highway it just redirects me to the curvy road asap which I don’t want since I want to decide when I want to be on highway and when I don’t want to.
is there a way to do so?
cheers

The best workaround for your situation is probably what you did more or less:
- Go to the power planner
- Add start and destination flags
- Generate curvy route
- And now REMOVE via points on the stretches where you don't want the curvy route.
- Add or move some via points as necessary
Another way is to create the route on Kurviger.de. Kurviger does allow different routing modes between stops...and when you use the 'Send to Scenic' button on Kurviger Scenic will place the via points to honor the routing modes as you entered at Kurviger. This does require a Kurviger Tourer subscription though (I believe it's 10 EUR/year).
Here you'll find how to use the 'Send to Scenic' button on Kurviger and then Scenic: https://scenic.app/help/ways-sources-to-import/ (scroll down to about half the page to find the 'send to scenic' Kurviger section.)
