Maps and mobile data
Quote from MLH on 14.06.2026, 05:43I’m taking a 12-day trip to the Alps (Lanslebourg-Mont-Cenis) with some friends. Scenic is going to be my navigation system.
I'm happy that it uses mobile data to assist in navigation, but I have already downloaded more maps than I need, just in case the roads ridden vary from those planned. If, eg, it rains a lot in the Alps, we may head for somewhere closer to Sam Tropez, for example.
Is there a way to prevent Scenic from updating those maps while I’m abroad? I nearly ran out of mobile data a while back and I think Scenic had updated all the maps when I was off WiFi. Running out of mobile data while abroad could be very inconvenient and damned expensive.
Needless to say I will check for map updates the morning before I leave and any time I’m on WiFi, but…
