Error on route import: Unknown Leg Shape index.....
Quote from DNadig on 22.10.2024, 07:20I've imported many routes from Furkot into Scenic and works great. Oddly, I made a very small test route around my neighborhood and was given an error message on import:
Route Calculation Error. Unknown: leg_shape_index not set for intermediate location
Any tips as to what this means and how I fix it?

I have other routes I’ve also made that DO import perfectly. If I super simplify my test route it will import. There is something about when I tell it to go down the block further that it throws the error.

Quote from DNadig on 08.12.2024, 14:34My problem stemmed from my test route being too short. As soon as I made it longer it worked fine.
YMMV.

Offline-Maps are up to date; actual Beta.
Hi Laszlo,
The tracks in the GPX files that you sent contain roads thar are marked as 'not allowed for motorvehicles'. That's why you get this error message (I agree the message should be more descriptive). Example: https://www.openstreetmap.org/way/138974415
I don't know if these roads are really not for motor vehicles, or are just marked as such by the map editor because you can't go there with a car (but you can with a adventure/enduro motorcycle). If you think that information is, incorrect you could report or fix it in the map data: https://scenic.app/help/reporting-map-errors/
Alternatively / and, what you can do:
- Import as normal
- When you get the error message, tap it away and then change transportation mode to bicycle - mountain bike, all sliders to max
- Optionally you can adjust the 'bicycle speed' to get a better duration estimate
- Now, the route will calculate and you can save it.For more info and explanation, also have a look here at this thread: https://scenic.app/forum/topic/just-being-honest/#postid-10481
Best regards,
Guido
