Different map versions on different phones?

Hi Guido

I have got Scenic installed on 2 iphones, a 6 and an SE. Due to the iOS version, the 6 has not updated to Scenic 3.

I've noticed it still uses the original maps (or at least it says it is) and they definitely look different when viewed side by side, plus I have available some of the smaller trail roads that are missing in Here maps.

Is this a legacy "bonus" of using the older Scenic, or if i were to install it on another iphone 6 would the newly downloaded maps be the Here ones?

Thank you for creating this fantastic app.

Afraid this is a legacy thing. Scenic 2 can’t use the HERE maps. And Scenic 3 only runs on devices running iOS 14 or higher. Here’s more info: https://scenic.app/help/scenic-3-info/

If you're enjoying Scenic and are happy with the support, please leave a nice rating in the App Store. It would mean a lot to me ❤️

If I'm understanding correctly, this then sounds like the perfect solution for users who can't find some of their roads that were in the old version or couldn't get on with the new style, rather than having them leave the platform, given that the iphone 6 is quite old and can be found for not much money? For example my old phone cost me £20 as the sim card doesn't work, but I just wifi hotspot it to my main phone in my pocket.

Personally the switch from wheel menu to bar wasn't a dealbreaker for me, but I don't ride much over winter anyway so I'm looking forward to putting V3 to a lot more use as we move toward spring.  But having the old version to fall back to if necessary on the older phone is a nice security blanket.
