Custom map style editing returns me to to my home location

I’m planning a ride a few hundred km from home and created a custom map to help distinguish between tracks and dirt and forestry type roads.

when I go into Custom Map mode the map display is returned to my location so I need to find where I was planning. Can the map location where planning mode is at be retained?
