changing map style during navigation or tracking

Then on iPhone, move the map slightly and go to Edit/Change route. Then you'll see the layers button there, where you can change map style.

a workaround could be:
Use your preffered offroad map style and select it for: dark apperance.
Then you just need to toogle between mapstyles when you go offroad.
Maybe your bike got daytime riding lights, you just switch headlights on and your carplay will switch to dark mode.
Or you cover the sensor of your carplay device and it will switch to dark mode immediatly.

thanks Guido, I was not hoping to get a Carplay solution but was under the impression the layer button is when pressing the 9 squares in on the right side to get to the navigation menue. When doing that you also get to the layer symbol but w/o the possibility of changing the map style.
