Can scenic read stop or via name? or other notes?
Quote from Dad-rideagain on 29.10.2026, 14:03I'm wondering if there is a way for Scenic to announce information on and upcoming stop or via. Here are two specifc examples, though there can be many other. 1) A route has a very sharp hidden turn coming up just over the hill. I'd like to have it remind me just be I get to it (I don't ride this route very often). 2) the route has a choice coming up. Say turning right goes into town for coffee and ice cream and then continues from there or turning left continues on to the planned remaining route. Maybe we should skip the ice cream this time. (actual example from a planned route never ridden before).

(I don’t believe this happens on Android Scenic yet.). I use this a lot to mark start, end and tricky turn points on dirt tracks and ETA or closing times for rest breaks. Can’t do this for Vias, so just use a Stop instead keeping in mind Scenic will not automatically skip a Stop if there’s deviation from the planned route.
