Bug: Playgrounds can‘t change color

It seems like playgrounds are always in a bright green and the color can‘t be changed and they also can‘t be disabled in custom map themes.

You're right. That's a bug. It should be under the Areas > Land > Man-made section, but it's not.
Will add to the list. Might take a while as I have higher priorities at the moment.

I reported a similar bug in 2025, at the time Guido mentioned it could be a map provider issue:

It’s not great in Dark Mode maps (but maybe dependent on where you live)
