Blank (Redacted?) Trip Info Box

On a ride yesterday, I was not seeing the ride trip data (distance to destination, time to, etc.) in the black box bottom left corner of the screen.

See the attached image for more info.

Chigee AIO-5 Lite in Carplay mode

Iphone 14 Pro Max running IOS 27.

I swapped apps (google maps) then back to Scenic. Just now thinking about this, maybe I should've forced quit the app on the phone and started again. Only other thing that I didn't do was to turn off the bike to power down the Chigee.

I'll fire it up later and see if the problem is still there and if so, I'll try those things.

My wife and I get it. Restarting doesn’t help.

She’s on a new iPhone 18 Pro Max, I’m on my iPhone 17 Pro Max. We’re both running iOS 27.0 and Scenic 4.45(5). We have identical Chigee units, with identical firmware.

We have similar, but different issues. I see the ETA box in dark grey with black writing, which is very hard to read. Julie sees an even darker box with black writing, which is impossible to read.

I wonder if it's iOS27 and whatever carplay revision that's been implemented with it.

We suspect the darkness of the box is related to the Liquid Glass setting. Julie’s is on max, and she has a totally black box. Mine is set lower and the box is a lighter grey, although still too difficult to read when riding

I can confirm it is Liquid Glass related. My wife adjusted her setting and the darkness of the box changed.

It’s also not related to the Chigee as it does it on the car’s CarPlay screen too.

Thanks for letting us know. I'm not that familiar with the iPhone's settings. What did you adjust?

Just had to go to the shops for something. While out I programmed in the drive (in the car) home via the Carplay dash. The box displayed correctly, although the route home was all over the shop, but that's an issue for another day.

I'll check it out on the bike later.

Go into the settings app on the phone and search “liquid”. Then adjust the slider
