Auto bypassing multiple wave points with auto skip off

So I am on my route that includes a same road later in route (on way back).  As I am riding I see a picture I want, so I find a safe spot to turn around.  I go back turn around again stop take picture continue on route.  Normal right.  No as I get back on untraveled road and come to a side road it is redirecting me back. In this instance I was between wavepoints 7&8.  But it is directing me to 14 skipping the other wave points.  I guess because I went back going the 13-14 wavepoint direction.  I ignored and tried taking my intended route but it would not go back to intended route kept taking me to point 14 skipping part of my route.
I had to stop end route and start route over.  I went into edit mode and deleted wavepoints I had traveled.  And continued my route as intended.
I attached a picture of the route it errored on.  It is in the center of picture where I go over and along the water.
I know this might be a hard detour behavior to rectify.
Detour behavior was on do not redirect & do not skip, the guide me back to route button is on.  Which after it did not lead me back to route after getting back on the intended route ( now smaller pink line with wave points shaded on screen).  I did hit guide me back but it still guided me to 14 with (option to delete 14).
Thanks for you continuing efforts to improve the app.

Yes... this is a result of  the "do not recalculate" setting. On that setting, whenever you leave the route, Scenic immediately starts scanning if you are back on the route again. It will assume that you reached the route whenever you get closer than 10 meters from the route again. The point on the route that's nearest to your current location will be taken, and any waypoints before that point will be considered as skipped or reached.

Hi Guido, I'm having a problem where via points are simply being skipped, especially when I briefly deviate from the planned route. What can I do? Regards, Rudolf

Hi Rudolf,

I suspect you have “auto-skip” turned on. Have a look here: https://scenic.app/help/detour-behaviour-scenic/

Best regards,

Guido
