Zoom out while navigating
Quote from Matt Boudreau on 07.06.2022, 19:36I’d like to see more of the road ahead , is there a way to do this? The screen zooms in as soon as I release the expanded pinch.

Quote from Guido on 07.06.2022, 19:38The default zoom is ‘auto’ and is based on your speed.
You could set zoom to Manual (Settings > Navigation & Tracking).
Alternatively, if you are in 3D mode, perhaps changing the 3D camera angle (in settings > Finetuning) might help.

Is there any way to change the zoom 'rate'? It is apparently set to 'Auto', but I have to say, I've not noticed any zoom at all.

Quote from Guido on 12.08.2022, 13:30At this moment there is no way to adjust the zoom. Well, you can put it to manual but that will completely deactivate auto zoom. But you should be able to notice this though. You do need tobsters a ride though. Only in the navigations screen (when uit tap the ‘start ride’ button), is where auto-zoom works.

Quote from BiKenG on 12.08.2022, 13:58Yes, today I was navigating in a ride, but I have never noticed in any usage of Scenic any zoom at all.
At what speed is the display minimum size?
What percentage should it zoom when stationary (at junction)?

Quote from Guido on 12.08.2022, 14:03At stand still zoom should be max. The faster you go, the bigger the area you see. Make sure zoom is set to auto (Settings > Navigation & Tracking > Zoom. What version of Scenic are you on? If not on latest version (like mentioned in the other thread) this might be related to related bug that I mentioned there.

Quote from Mark on 18.09.2022, 11:55Related Feature Request:
A couple of custom Zoom settings (e.g., Auto Zoom 1, Auto Zoom 2, etc. ) would be brilliant for different applications. You would ideally be able to fix the zoom level for something like below 40kph, between 40 & 100kph and above 100 kph for each custom setting. The current Auto settings are far too low for me for some applications. I was following a BDR route this week and the close auto zoom at low was fine, but it did I not back out far enough as I sped up.
It would also be awesome if you could set an Auto zoom to always see the next via point, stop, or turn. There were quite a few times that scenic took me off the track and greyed out a few via points that I missed. Had they been visible I could have turned appropriately.
Thanks for your consideration and for a great product!Mark

Quote from Farmwinger on 18.09.2022, 20:00Ideally one could set the zoom level they desire at either the slowest speed or fastest speed and auto zoom would adjust according to that setting. And/or, be able to set the range of zoom. As is, auto zoom sounds good, but is nearly useless.

Quote from Guido on 19.09.2022, 07:05I’m somewhat dependent on the options that the HERE Map framework offers for zoom.
I’m working on a bigger update during fall/winter, where I’m migrating to the new HERE map framework.
If possible I’ll add more auto-zoom config options. Until that time, if you don’t like auto-zoom, there’s the manual zoom option.

Quote from Mark on 19.09.2022, 07:29Great, thanks for considering it. The manual zoom works when my thin gloves cooperate with the touchscreen, but cannot help when using heavier gloves or waterproof over gloves, so I depend on auto zoom for those times.
Much appreciated,
Mark
