YouTube Music - skip song
Quote from HOOK on 11.06.2024, 05:42I've read and searched...and for the life of me I can't seem to figure out how to make the buttons work for skipping forward or backward in a playlist with YouTube music.
Any advice?

Quote from HOOK on 11.06.2024, 06:30Thank you. I've read it...and I've seen your instructions here: https://scenic.app/help/control-music-playback-for-all-media-apps-not-just-apple-music/
I guess I'm thick headed. But I don't see the option to allow untrusted shortcuts and I'm not finding this intuitive at all. Sorry.

Quote from HOOK on 11.06.2024, 06:51I am able to setup Shortcut 1 and Shortcut 2 to achieve the Skip Back and Skip Forward. Is that what you're referring to? I was under the impression I could make the << and >> buttons do this in any app.
Thanks.

Quote from Guido on 11.06.2024, 07:15Yes. Once you setup the shortcuts, you can invoke those shortcuts with the << and >> buttons in the Scenic navigation menu (the big button menu). This will then have the same effect as tapping the << and >> buttons in the “now playing” section in control center.

Quote from HOOK on 11.06.2024, 07:56Ok. All 3 shortcuts are set up. I have used the shortcuts. There is still no option for "Turn on ‘Allow Untrusted Shortcuts’"
I've rebooted the device.
And the << and >> buttons only open the shortcuts app briefly and then scroll back to the big button menu without doing anything.
I'm missing something or something is broken.
iOS: 17.5.1 on iPhone 15

Quote from Guido on 11.06.2024, 08:15I believe the "Turn on ‘Allow Untrusted Shortcuts’" step can be skipped on newer iOS versions. Apple removed this setting in one of their previous iOS updates.
So, this means the buttons now should work. I just tried it myself (iOS 17.5.1, iPhone 15 plus), and it's working for me here. I tried with YouTube music. Here's a short screen recording I just made: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1d7KXV4T2RzMuCU-FyWmm7M9TmGbfjTrZ/view?usp=sharing

Quote from HOOK on 11.06.2024, 10:15Oh geez....your directions are VERY clear. I guess I wasn't reading them fully. I was reading the instructions on PC and trying to find shortcuts that didn't exist on my phone. I couldn't find the scenic shortcuts no matter where I searched. And just now I read it all again on my phone I noticed the link that opened shortcuts and added them on the phone. Sorry...my bad. Works as intended. 🙂

Quote from Guido on 11.06.2024, 10:42No problem. Guess there's is one thing missing in the instructions... they should say to open it on the iPhone. I've updated the instruction a bit, including mentioning that Step 2 might not be necessary anymore depending on iOS version.
