WebApp - pushpins
Quote from rocminc99al on 30.05.2022, 16:29I've seen at least a couple of threads mentioning a WebApp. Is creating a web application still on the road map? If it is, I would like to suggest functionality that was available in the old Microsoft Streets & Trips. I found it very useful for my planning. S&T allowed me to add groups of pushpins using different symbols. I used pushpins to map scenic roads described in various travel books (The most scenic drives in America, Scenic Driving <state>, etc.) I would then try to create the most "efficient" route with as many scenic roads as possible and still stay within the constraints of my trip. Then I would split the route into daily rides.
For example, my 2.5 weeklong Colorado trip included 28 scenic roads. It allowed me to create a master route that I would have never been able to create otherwise. BTW, the second picture is a route with 93 stops and waypoints in Google Maps. Good old days.

Quote from Guido on 30.05.2022, 16:38The WebApp already exists but it’s very basic now: https://scenicapp.space/webapp.php
A full fletched web planner is indeed on the road map. It will offer very similar functionality as the power planner in the iOS app.
The different markers that you are referring to can already be established in the power planner through Custom POI groups and ‘show on map’ layers.
In the tutorial video there is a section onto this. The video still displays the previous Scenic version, but the functionality did not change. Just it looks a little different.

are there any news regarding web planner? I installed the Scenic app on my MacBook, but I'm struggling with the handling - cannot zoom in/out (maybe the problem is me 🙁 )
I really like Scenic but I really miss the opportunity to plan my routes on the web (big screen) like Kurviger e.g. - that's the only thing that would prevent me from using Scenic in the future...

Hi @rideaxman,
I am doing since ever exactly what you ask for - planning on a big screen using scenic on macOS (currently on 26.1 beta).
So zooming is actually straight forward but requires to press the command ⌘ key:
- while moving the map around with two fingers on the touchpad, or using the magic mouse
- holding the "Command ⌘ key" and swipe up or down enables zooming
- zooms in and out the center of the screen
- it keeps zooming to the center, but not to the pointer in case you moved it to a specific place
- zooming towards the pointer
- instead of just swiping up or down you pinch with your two fingers on the touchpad
- zooms towards the pointer
Hope this helps, Markus
