Waypoint slightly off the road & pink dot

I was double checking a ride today and noticed I had a Waypoint (Stop) slightly off the road but there was a small pink dot on the road.

Does this mean Scenic will clear the Stop as I pass the pink dot? What is the tolerance, for example can the Stop be 50 meters away, 20 meters away?

I’ve not noticed this before.

It's not really a dot.... it's the end of one section overlapping with the start of a new section. A route is comprised of sections between stops (not via points). You'll notice this more clearly if your route color has transparency, like you do it seems.

When you place a stop, Scenic tries to match that stop to the road network, and that's where the little dot will be. I don't know the threshold for this to be honest. It's done by the routing framework.
