Voice output to car bluetooth

Hi Guido, I use Scenic both on my bike, also in my 9 year old Volvo XC60 which has Bluetooth connectivity but not Carplay etc.

So when I use it (on iPhone) in my car I set Scenic's Voice Output to "Force to device speaker" so that I can still use my car's hands-off phone connectivity via Bluetooth and also hear the voice prompts from Scenic via the phone speaker.

This works fine but I note there is also an option to set the Voice output "as Phone call (HFP)" - which does not seem to work for me.

I am assuming this option is supposed to work a bit like the Google Maps voice output option which I can set to "Play as Bluetooth phone call" so that the nav prompts from Google Maps come through Bluetooth to my car speaker system in parallel, so again the hands-off phone connectivity is also there.

Was this also the aim for that Scenic option, if so does it work and what should I do to make it work for me?

It should work like the Google Maps setting. If it doesn’t there’s nothing I can do for the moment. Currently a big update is in beta test. This also has a new audio engine. I recommend to wait until that’s available on the App Store. I suspect the new audio engine will resolve this problem. Or, if you want, I can add you as a beta tester. If that’s something you are interested in please send me a direct email. (There is an ‘email’ button at the bottom of the help page)

If you're enjoying Scenic and are happy with the support, please leave a nice rating in the App Store. It would mean a lot to me ❤️

Thanks for the quick response, I look forward to the next update - hopefully it will include my request to have control of the size of the bike location marker on the roads when I have thicker roads in my custom maps - I sent a separate request for this. I will email you about being a Beta tester, should be interesting.
