Voice instruction stutter
Quote from mattsz on 12.11.2022, 06:59I can't remember exactly what happens or when, but it seems that the voice commands occasionally stutter. Not all the time, though. I often hear it when I'm getting consecutive instructions in one go. For example, if the voice instruction is meant to be, "Turn left on Main street, then turn right", what I'll sometimes hear is, "Turn left on Main street, then-then turn right", with the two "thens" heard in quick succession.
Anyone else run into this? I don't pay attention to voice instructions when riding, as I don't have any audio in my helmet and I can't hear them. I use Scenic in my car, but only on very rare occastions - that's when I hear it...

Quote from Ernst on 14.11.2022, 15:17I've heard it often, the voice cutting itself off. But I can't say under what conditions that happens.

Quote from mattsz on 21.08.2023, 18:06I used Scenic in my car this weekend, so I was able to hear the turn instructions... she still stutters. It doesn't always happen, but when it does, it's always the same: when there are two instructions with the word "then" between them, the "then" gets repeated just like I described in the original post:

Is it possible the voice is saying "and then," but I'm hearing "then-then?"

Quote from Guido on 21.08.2023, 18:09Yes... the voice says "and then". I know that for certain.

just to make sure its a similar problem. We had that kind of sound issues months ago. Voice instruction been a bit late.
Maybe it helps to hear music while navigating. Start any title, you dont need to listen to the music, just pause it. Does the stuttering still occure?
My idea is: There a 2 soundfiles. „Then turn right“ is the second on. This second file seems to be late, or any other reason for a delay.
While i listen to music i had never problems listening to the instructions. (Except loudness 😜) Without music it sometimes struggeled.
Just give it a try to see if this helps. Remember: You may pause the music, its just that the „channel is open“.
Regards Mex

Thanks Mex! I haven't had an issue with late instruction, just the "stutter," which I'm sure, now that Guido has confirmed, is just my own misunderstanding of what the voice is actually saying. So, not a Scenic problem, but a Biological Interface Error, IBM, PEBKAC... an ID-10-T error...
