If it helps, the blurred line looks alot like the way the menubar background is blurred on the full page map view, but shifted down into the screen.  I also noticed that menubar blurring only happens in portrait mode -- when i rotate to landscape, the background blur disappears.  Maybe there is something in the resizing code when switching between landscape and portrait...
