V4 Routing Preferences - Definitions
Quote from Dae on 08.10.2024, 08:12This may seem like a basic question, but is there a set of definitions for what each of the options in the v4 routing preferences mean?
The reason I ask is that it’s not clear exactly, as an example, by “Highway”. That can mean one of many things, depending on where you live. As an example, in the UK the phrase “highway” is defined as “any road, route, way, or thoroughfare on land which connects one location to another and has been paved or otherwise improved, including by mere trampling by a sufficient number of humans, to allow travel in some way, including by motorised vehicles, cyclists, pedestrians, horse riders, and others (but not trains”, whereas in the USA it may be interpreted to mean what us in the UK would call “motorway”, or “autopista” in Spain.
I know this may seem pedantic, but it’s important. Does Scenic infer the UK, US or some other meaning for the slider labelled “highway”. And be extension, what is the definition of “adventurous”?
It’s important to know what each of these mean. Maybe there could be one of those little “i” symbols in a circle which you can touch to get more info?
