v3.5 blocking certain roads

Hi Guido, new version, new map provider, so probably loads of questions 😉

This summer the tour will be the French Alps, and the route leader has the first drafts of the routes. Made in Basecamp. Previously in Scenic, I could import the GPX, the track would show, and where the track deviated from the calculated route, I could put a way- or viapoint. Worked like a charm.

3.5 blocks me from choosing certain route. The track goes via the Galibier, but can't force my way over ... Today, the pass is closed, but we're going in June, when it will be open ... Disabled the traffic toggle when planning, but it still seems to influence the planner. Either as passes, or at traffic works ...

Something as fix for next small version?

Yes. I've had another comment and have the fix already I believe. But, would you mind sending me the share link to your route too, so I can test my fix with your route as well? If you prefer not to put it on the forum, you can use the "Email" button at the bottom of the help page.

Hallo Guido,

Ik loop tegen hetzelfde aan. Passen zij in de winter afgesloten maar wil nu al een mooie route maken. Scenic weigert je over de afgesloten passen te sturen die in de zomer open zijn.

Eem mooie functie zou zijn als je de keuze had deze aan of uit te kunnen zetten. Motorrijders kiezen er vaker voor om afgesloten wegen (bij wegwerkzaamheden) te negeren 🙂

Working with HERE to resolve it. Workaround: download the offline maps (and make sure you have the just released version 3.52) https://apps.apple.com/app/id1089668246

Hello Guido,

The workaround does the trick. But how do we use it when we actually ride the track and want to know if there are closed roads?

It depends on the type of closure. Seasonal closures are not marked in the route (blue color) and you'll get a warning about this when you calculate the route.

Closed roads is part of traffic information, that is currenctly not considered in the route calculation. This will be added later this year.
