Using Scenic without data connection
Quote from Eric on 13.08.2025, 13:32My normal phone is an Android, so I have an old iPhone X that I use for Scenic. It does not have an active cellular or data plan on it. If I need data while I'm out, I turn on my hotspot temporarily.
I feel like Scenic location accuracy could be better though. Sometimes when I'm out riding, it temporarily thinks I'm off route, or I miss turns because my location is not accurate.
My question is, does having cellular and data active improve accuracy in the app?
BTW, I do have the offline maps downloaded.
Thanks,
Eric

If you are having problems with Scenic thinking you are off route while you are not, try to increase the distance threshold in Settings > Finetuning > Route recalculation parameters.
