unnötige Fahranweisung

Hallo Guido,

habe folgendes festgestellt (V4.20) :

@guidomm is aware of this and trying to see if the map provider can sort it. He posted about it recently and we’ve exchanged many emails on it.

it’s not only on via points. There are a lot, no, a huge mass of annoying and unuseful navigation announcements. I took some passes in the alps and there were so many many announcements on almost any serpentine like „turn right to stay on …“

And it was at least three (!) for every serpentine: 600m, 300m and 50m before.
So, when the pass had like 30 serpentines,  I got 90 useless anouncements…😳

I don’t need this announcement which „guides“ me through every serpentine where it is obvious where to steer…

@windingroad38... do you still have this route saved by any chance? If so, could you share it with me? (select route from route list > 3 dots button top right > share link). I'd like to see what instructions are generated. I might be able to filter some of them out.

Meanwhile there are 2 workarounds:

  • Temporarily put sound to "alerst only" while you are gong through the hairpin corners (serpintines). Here's how: https://scenic.app/help/sound-voice-problems/ (number 3).
  • Disable some of the voice instructions. Settings > Sound & Voice Instructions > Voice Instruction Frequency.
If you're enjoying Scenic and are happy with the support, please leave a nice rating in the App Store. It would mean a lot to me ❤️

Sure, here it is:

I really can’t remember exactly, there were so many curves. But I think I remember those anouncements after Via Point 7, for example. But I am rather sure this happened on the other roads likewise.

I‘ve also reported this behavior with the small difference it does not happen for every waypoint but some and even after app. 4000km driven using scenic this year already I wasn‘t able to identify the differences in the waypoints that cause the direction announcements.

Still I‘m sometimes getting confused but mostly I am able to live with it. 😄
