Unexpected Lock Screen
Quote from Frank on 26.05.2024, 06:07Scenic navigated me along the prerecorded route perfectly on a 2 hour trip, while after an hour and having a 20 minutes break or so, the phone casually went from battery saver to black screen several times, i.e. iPhone lock screen. Since I navigate in landscape mode, only way to getting back to Scenic again was pausing the ride, open helmet and use Face ID (iPhone 15 Pro) to come back to Scenic operating in the background. Again, Scenic was operating in the background delivering voice commands, but screen was black.
Any thoughts on this?

Quote from Dae on 27.05.2024, 10:44I’ve been out all day today with Scenic 3.61(1) and have also experienced unexpected locking of the phone.
The phone was connected to CarPlay the whole time, and kept locking itself even though the phone had the “connected to CarPlay” screen showing. The WunderLINQ was connected the whole time and an active route was in progress. It happened before and after lunch, even though the phone was restarted at lunch time to see if it fixed it, but it didn’t.

I am not sure if this is an iPhone problem. When navigating on Google maps using CarPlay in the car my iPhone shows the list of instructions on its screen all the time whereas my wife’s iPhone initially shows the list then after quite a few minutes the screen locks. The car navigation screen is always fine. I have spent quite some time looking through settings and comparing settings and cannot see why her iPhone locks the Home Screen after a while.

That's indeed very strange behaviour. Difficult to say if the iPhone locking is a Google app setting or something that iOS or CarPlay enforces. For now, at least for Scenic, I believe this is a bug where, after bringing Scenic to the background shortly, or quickly checking another app while navigating, the auto-lock prevention is not enabled anymore. I've made some changes for the next update to fix this.
Best regards,
Guido

I had this situation on my trip to France the other week. The first couple of hours all is good and then while riding I got the Lock Screen.
I did a workaround and just turned off the „ Automatische Sperre“ sorry I have a German version iPhone 12. This is where you can say how long it takes till the iPhone goes into the lock screen.
It’s not good because then my iPhone is always on if I forget to close it myself when not navigating, and I do forget 😏 and have not battery power after a short time 😩
hope you can look into this.

Quote from Guido on 07.06.2024, 13:20Version 3.63 should resolve this: https://apps.apple.com/app/id1089668246
It was roled out last week, so it's possible you didn't have that version at that time. You can see version number at bottom of settings.
