Time to next stop point
Quote from Scapepod on 26.04.2025, 17:34While the display of time to the end is valuable, it becomes less so when there are stop points. I would like to see the time to the next planned stop also be displayed.
Additionally, it would be nice to define the length of time scheduled for a given stop, (for example 15 minutes for a bio-break, an hour for a lunch stop).
Thanks for a great product.

Stop duration is on the feature request list but will take a while as this requires a database change.

Funnily enough only yesterday was I was thinking about this item that you added to the list for me last year.
I had a strange thought that instead of a database change (best way to do it) and interim solution may be to use specific text that you could parse in the name of the Stop, e.g. “Coffee Stop - **PAUSETIME:90m**”

Quote from Guido on 27.04.2025, 09:55It’s not a strange thought. And of course something like that would be possible technically. But it’s not the cleanest solution. I’d rather do it right the first time even though it means a bit more time.
At the moment however there are higher priority items on the list still. But, as soon as I have all these high priority things out of the way I will start going through the list of these lower prios / nice to haves. A lot of those were pushed back due to the forced migration to the new map provider.
Hope you understand.

Quote from Dae on 27.04.2025, 12:07As you’ll know from our email exchanges, I completely understand. It was more a weird thought as it came out of nowhere. I was doing something completely unrelated and it popped in my head for some reason.
It is one of the things that’s incredibly useful on a tour, especially with a group. I have to do the mental arithmetic and remember how many stops are left when someone asks for timings.

Just happy to get it on the list for the future.

Quote from sdk on 27.04.2025, 23:38I'm just adding this here: I set "show distance and time to" to "altenate".
It works on the phone. On the carplay screen, it shows the next stop only. (no alternation to the tour end)

Hi Guido
Just want to be another ‘thumbs up’ for the ‘Stop Duration’ being on your lower priority list. I logged in to the forum to place a request for exactly that and happened to find this thread before writing my own post!
Thank you again for such a fantastic app. I left an app rating quite some time ago but I continue to ‘spread the word’ whenever I have the opportunity both online and in the real world. You have done an amazing job designing this app and especially with all of the challenges over the past year. Love Scenic!!
