The best amount of poi for a route
Quote from Skdibi on 29.06.2023, 10:56Hello everyone!
Plotted a certain route I would like to know whether at the stage of creating the route, it is better to insert more or less number of poi inside the route and what are the advantages or disadvantages of the two solutions and finally if and how they affect the proper functioning of the app.
😉

A couple of things to bear in mind for this:
- Check the description under 'Settings > Navigation & Tracking > Detour Behaviour'. Based on that you might want to add additional via points / stops.
- Place via points AFTER/BETWEEN junctions. Not ON junctions or just before junctions. This way Scenic knows better (doesn't have to guess) which way to turn on a junction.

This because when adding via x later on such routes, the app may misunderstand and make a not very sensible suggestion.
If I have already have made a route and want to add a loop or some back-and-forth strech in between, I place a few viapoints, one after another, on the existing strech where I want to extend the route. I then move these viapoints to the roads where I want to create a new strech, thus getting them i the right/wanted order.

I will definitely try to apply them to the creation of the next path.
