Strange jump in a saved ride
This is a screenshot from my ride yesterday. It’s clearly visible that there is a strange jump.
We were approaching the roundabout and took the 3th exit to stop on the petrol station. After this we took the second exit on the same roundabout. As visible from the screenshots instead as taking the second exit we have jumped from the petrol station to B3091 and after this back to our route.
This is another example of a little jump. According my understanding it’s because the ride was not resumed yet. On v2 I find out that if I press the ‘Resume ride’ button it will go back in waiting mode or whatever mode it’s called while I put my gloves on and am ready to ride. I didn’t try to use this button on v3. Can the time required to switch back to waiting mode be increased after the ‘Resume ride’ button is pressed. There could be times that even I will be ready but other people in the group are not ready.
P.S. I can’t use the touchscreen while with gloves.
I’m using Snapped position. While riding my phone is on the handlebars of the bike. On both stops I took it with me inside the building. Both places have good GPS signal outside of the building, not sure inside. On the petrol station, where the big jump is we spend most of the time outside 10-15 min and only around 5 min inside. On the other jump we spend most of the time inside the building (20-30 min) and had 3-5 min outside to prepare ourselves to go. We had another stop where we have spent most time in a building and again 3-5 min outside to prepare ourselves and there is also a jump
Today I am on another ride. I have the same jumps 2 times - still on the ride, so maybe will have more. The red line shows my real route. I have started the app when I was outside and spend around 5 min to prepare myself. I can confirm the GPS signal was good and the marker showed my position correctly. As you can see the green line tracking my ride started later. I have stopped on the petrol station to fill up. I took the phone in the building but before I started my ride I have checked and the position was correct again. As you can see it has jumped again.
I believe that you can divide this on 2 issues - the big jump that requires additional filtering and another one that the track doesn’t work while ‘waiting’ mode is enabled.
I can confirm these are 2 different issues. Definitely it doesn’t like to be inside a building, especially a sturdy ones. The red circle is the problematic part, the blue is where the bike was parked and the yellow is where I was in the building for around an hour but I was sitting on one place.
I was waiting on the road and after I resumed the ride (without pressing the resume button) there was a jump. If you need I can upload a screenshot.
