Searching and planning

Not sure if this is possible but I’m planning a road section of an off road trip for the summer and I’m trying to search for campsites around where I want to stop but when I enter search “campsites near by” it returns to where I actually am, is there a way to only search the part of the map I am looking at?

The “search nearby” feature (fuel, camp sites, etc. should take the center of the map you are currently looking at as center for the search. I just tried this and it works like that for me.

This was an issue in one of the early versions of Scenic 4, but has been fixed quite some time ago (even before Christmas if memory serves).

Just to double check… are you on the latest version v4.17? If not, you can update here: https://apps.apple.com/app/id1089668246

OK. I can't reproduce this. For me it's taking the center of the visible map area as center of the search.

Just to be clear...this is not the same as the entire visible map area. It takes the center of the visible map area (if in plan mode, that's where the crosshairs is), and then searches in a 15km radius from that center.

Ah... the manually dragging the map is the action that cashes the map center coordinate. Could you try dragging the map ever so slightly before doing the search?

I think I can see what happens here, if I type in campsites nearby it goes back to my location but if I use the pre-dedicated icon it doesn’t so that works for me.
