Screen freezes on carplay

Hi folks,

this morning we met at 10.00 a.m. 8 kilometers away from my hometown.

I went to the next petrol station to refill. Route already started, leading me to the start of the route (meeting point). I like to see where to go, been different in 4.2 i think.

After the refill my carplay device didnt show the map, just blank screen and only the last information was shown (turn left after 150m) but i needed a refill so i went on straight. I knew the route well so i went to the meeting point by myself.

Did anyone have that issue too?

After meeting my buddies the carplay device didnt show speed limits for about 20 kilometers. That changed after a short period and speed limits where shown correctly again.

Any suggestions?

Scenic 4.21 Chigee AIO 5 lite newest firmware, iPhone 11pro on 18.5.

Hi Mex,

I have had a few other reports about blank screens, but so far have not been able to discover a "structure" behind it and not been able to reliably reproduce this issue. Without being able to reproduce it reliably it's hard to find a fix. If you can find a structure / reliable way to always have this happen, could you let me know? (Goes for others too).

Ich hatte das 1 mal im Urlaub in CarPlay auf dem vollen Bildschirm. Ich habe dann einfach auf dem geteilten Bildschirm umgestellt und sofort was das Bild wieder das und ist dann auch auf dem vollen Bildschirm geblieben

Hi,

I haven't had blank screens but twice I had my current track moving but the map did not move and the arrow which should be centered and the beginning of my track was frozen.

Hi Guido.

The rest of the route Scenic did a good job. I had to skip some waypoints cause of a closed road, only bicycles allowed on sunday.
Only difference i can assume is:

I didnt reach my startpoint already because i needed a refill. Normaly i meet my buddies at the refillstation nearby.

Scenic guides me to the startpoint (gas station) and i am already on the route.

Yesterday i havn‘t been on the route and i switched of ignition before i reached the startpoint for the refill.I realized that after 2 turns because its my homtown so i dont check my carplay for each turn.

My Chigee AIO-5 is connected to the nav-connector of my bike. Ignition off = Chigee off.

Maybe that helps. Should it happen again, i“ll take a picture with my cellphone.

Is this the "White screen of death"
I get it after i've stopped and selecting different apps seems to bring Scenic back.
I think its related to the Resume Button, as this also seems to give repeated requests dispite pressing it....
