Screen dims

I’ve observed a problem running Scenic 4.0 on my iPhone 16 Pro Max with iOS 18. If I force quit Scenic or switch to another app, the screen dims. This behavior does not occur with any other app, nor does it happen with my iPad.
Any ideas?
Thanks,
Jeff

Apps can only keep the screen “awake” if they are active on the foreground. So, if you bring Scenic to the background, or force quit it, Scenic is no longer in control of wether or not the screen goes to sleep.
I don’t imagine this to be any different for other apps, maybe Apple’s own apps are an exception to this.
Having said that there was a bug in Scenic 4.00 where it sometimes let the screen sleep after coming back from the background. This has been resolved in v4.01 which was released earlier today: https://apps.apple.com/app/id1089668246
Best regards,

Quote from oldgeezer on 10.10.2024, 20:54My apologies; it was all my fault.
Some time ago I created a Siri shortcut to turn screen brightness up when Scenic (or any of my navigation apps) is opened, and return brightness to its normal value when the app is closed. As the brightness scale on the iPhone 16 Pro Max display is different to that of the iPhone 14, the restored value needed to be changed.
All is well.
