I noticed the following when reviewing and planning routes, really on iOS or macOS (arm).

• When doing the "preview" (before you edit the route) I don't think I can see or there are no road / route names, zoom way in and it is just the purple line.  If I edit the map they are usually there but so small I cannot read them.  No font adjustment or zoom level well help as zooming just keeps the same size lettering.
• Not sure I have seen this on the iOS app but on my mac running the iOS app when loading the map it takes a longer than normal time to bring in all the objects, sorta like watching prodigy build up it's pages from the late 80s.  Okay not that bad :). But I have offline maps downloaded but it happens with every route load on the mac.

 

The missing road names when previewing a route and then the fonts so small when editing would be my primary issue.
