Scenic App always Crash

Hello Guido,

I'm Jörg and I've been using the Scenic App quite intensively for over a year. Last weekend I was on the road with the motorcycle - the app worked flawlessly as always. Today it looks quite different: The app shuts down immediately after starting, sometimes with black screen, once even with pink screen. I have an iPhone 13 with current operating system and always after the app crashes the iPhone is restarted automatically. The app is unusable! I hope you can locate the error. I read that satmax had the same problem and you could help him. Would you please do the same for me. Thanks & greetings

If it’s the same underlying problem I can fix it.

That the iPhone automatically restarts is very very strange though and could indicate a more serious, maybe even a hardware, problem.

I'm afraid It's not the same issue as satmax had where ride data got corrupted. Everything looks fine on the server.

If you enabled some big POI groups they could be causing this, although that would not explain the black/pink screens nor the iPhone restarting. As I mentioned this is really weird. An app can crash, but this simply 'kills' the app. It should never ever lead to an iPhone restart.

Having said that, with these weird problems, there's always a chance that an app removal and re-download might work. So, I would go ahead and give that a try. To be sure, I'd expand the procedure a bit:

> remove Scenic completely from your device
> Close all open apps through the app switcher
> Turn off your iPhone
> Wait 2 minutes
> Turn it back on
> Redownload Scenic form App Store
> Login again

thank you for your quick response and straightforward support. I followed the instructions and deleted the app first and then reinstalled it as you described. Now everything is working again and I am very happy about it.
