Scenic 4 - Speed Limit on and off

Guido, loving your work 🥇

The other day I reported that the Speed Limit was not displaying.

I’ve download offline maps and went to fuel up this morning. The speed limit was absent but I saw it come in after a few minutes.

I stopped and filled up and rode off, again the speed limit was not there but it came on after another few minutes, then it went away again. I did two loops around the block to where it had came on thinking it might be a map data issue but I could not get it to come back on again.

Screenshots with time stamps;

A blue "arch" in the speedometer means that the speed limit is not known. It can be that it's really not known, or, that the offline map for the region is not installed?

If you're enjoying Scenic and are happy with the support, please leave a nice rating in the App Store. It would mean a lot to me ❤️

Guido, offline maps are installed. I only rode 5 km to fill up and back home.  It worked on one section of road and then went away. I went back to that section of road twice and it didn't come back!

Interesting that there are no other reports.

450k ride tomorrow I'll monitor it.

OK. This might be related to another issue where people are seeing two speedometers. That issue turns up when rotating your device during a navigation session, and will be fixed in v4.01 (next week). Tomorrow... try not to rotate your device during a navigation session 🙂.

if you go into settings it looks like you have show speed limit when speeding selected, this seems to be the default.

The issue i had is I couldn’t get back to settings to fine tune the app if i was recording a ride, not sure if this was in the old app though.

I show speed limit set to "Always"

I had a few other bugs today which I'll list in a new topic.

Hello

I have the same problem.

I have to make more tests but today it seams to me that the speed limit disappears with the end of a segment of driving instructions (like turn right after x meters or a roundabout) and then returns when a new street signal info appears.

Does it make sense? I’m most the time wrong, so ….

Thanks for your time

Hallo Guido,

Scenic 4 needs offline maps installed to show speed limits.
If the speedometer shows a blue "arch" it means the speed limits are not known.
It's possible that it takes upto 5 seconds for the speed limit to appear after turning into a new road, or new road segment.

This is probably a font color thing. Is this on CarPlay? Or on the device itself?

Hallo Guido,

I'm experiencing this exact same issue, using the latest version of Scenic (4.24). I've downloaded offline maps, and the speed limit indicator sporadically appears and disappears. I have it set to "always" display the speed limit, so I'll try changing that to "when speeding" to see if that makes a difference. I can also confirm that this problem happens on both iOS and CarPlay.
