Scenic 4.05 CarPlay Questions

Hi Guido.

I have a couple of questions regarding Carplay. I don't know if what I'm seeing are bugs or normal Carplay operation.

  1. When navigating, the Carplay screen shows a top-down view, not 3D. Is this now the new normal?
  2. I had to pan and scroll around the screen (this was in the car, not the bike) to look for where the route was taking me (it was wrong). Panning up, down or left and right, was really, really slow. I don't know if it was the infotainment unit in the car or Carplay itself or Scenic being slow to respond. It's a wired connection, too, if that matters.

I don't know if there are much differences between Carplay implementations in different cars or how Chigee does it with its AIO-5 Lite. I've yet to really test it on the bike which is what I mainly use Scenic for but a short ride the other day seemed to OK.

In point 2 (above), the route had me going past an intersection where I'd turn right and instead doing a "U turn" at a roundabout about 100 metres further up. But that might be a map data issue.

How often are the new maps updated?

  2. I'll take a look at the panning. Might be related to zoom level. I'll investigate.

Folgendes habe ich heute festgestellt.

Ich habe eine Rundtour von zuhause zur Arbeit und zurück erstellt.

Bin heute Morgen zur Arbeit und habe dann auf Pause ohne GPS gestellt.

Nach Feierabend konnte ich am iPhone die Route fortsetzen, aber nicht in CarPlay. Dort wurde die Route nicht angezeigt oder übernommen.

ich habe heute das gleiche versucht.

Auch auf dem iPhone konnte ich die Route nicht fortsetzen. Es startet Tracking.
