Scenic 4.03 and search in route planner
Quote from Winnall on 29.10.2024, 08:35When I plan routes and try to find places with the "Search" button, I am prompted for a text to search for. I can then input four or five characters, but then input is blocked until first search results appear. It is then possible to input more characters. I find this uncomfortable to use, particularly when I have several waypoints and stops.
When I have found what I was looking for and tap on it to add it to the route, I am then asked to choose between "Street View" and "Add to route". I would rather go straight to the route settings.
Why not add two buttons ("Street View" icon and "Add to route" icon) to the list of results from the search?
I would have liked to illustrate this post with screenshots, but unfortunately the "Add Media" won't insert images from macOS Photos.app.

That sounds like a bug. My guess is that getting the search suggestions blocks the input, but that shouldn't happen. I'll investigate and fix.

This is by design. The map centers on the search result you selected, to show you the location, so you can check if this is indeed the location you are looking for. SOmetimes there are more places with the same name, and you need to see it on the map to check if it's the right one.

Tap the "add media" button, open Photos app, drag photo in the media window to upload it.

I think this might disturb me less if the search process were more fluid.

I was too impatient: the "Insert..." button needs time after uploading the image to go from inactive to active.
Thank you for your replies.
