Save entry points into a regional park system and navigate to closest one

Hi Guido.

I was riding the other day and need to find the closest entry into a park system that covers about 50 miles across the region I live in. I was challenged to determine on my own where is the closest entry point into the park from my current location. Later, I thought I could prevent this from happening again if I was able to create either locations or POIs in Scenic. I am open to either, but wanted to get your suggestion.

Location option: I like the fact that when viewing a folder of locations it can be sorted by distance, which I think could work for me if I created a folder with the locations of where one can enter the park system and when I needed to visit the park, I would just open the folder; sort by distance and off I go.

POI option: Not sure if Scenic can navigate you to a POI which I suppose would also work. I realize that using POIs, they can be displayed on the map if the layer is turned on.

Thoughts on which option would work best for me?

On this case I believe the location option would work best. In fact this could already work now.

- Save the entry points if the park in a folder

- You can display all locations of that folder on the map too, by using the layers button in navigation mode:

- Then, during navigation (assuming you would want to choose the entry point during a navigation session), double tap the map to go to edit mode.

- In edit mode you can tap on a location marker and add it to the route.

Of course if you would like to plan this ahead of time (not while navigating), you could add the location you want in the power planner already.

Thanks for everything you do and your prompt and quick responsiveness on all the forum questions. One must wonder when do you find the time to actually enhance Scenic.
