routing recalculation on motorway

Rather than divert me off at the next junction, it is constantly recalculating new routes every few seconds (in urban areas) with start points on roads that are geographically near me, but of course are not accessible because I'm stuck on the motorway until the next junction.
I've had some other weird routing when on the bike (an not using motorways), and wondered whether this may be related
(Its been doing this on other recent versions as well)
