Road colours

on the colours for the roads, it’s not quite right for our motorway system. Motorways are coloured blue in the UK so I selected blue for the bit which said highways or autobahns but unfortunately this coloured all A roads blue. Is it possible to colour toll roads a different colour, say like Switzerland where you need a vignette to use their motorways?

Quote from Guido on 05.05.2025, 15:33Unfortunately, I can't change the motorway/A roads thing. Here's a good explanation from one of the fellow Scenic users: https://scenic.app/forum/topic/customizer-zoom-level-discrepancies/#postid-12495
If you really don't want A roads to be the same color as "Lvl1 (highway....)" then this would require a change in map data. Then all A-roads in UK should have the highway=trunk (lvl 2 road in Scenic) instead of highway=motorway tag (lvl 1 road in Scenic). Here is a link of all the OSM road classifications: https://wiki.openstreetmap.org/wiki/Key:highway
However, I would not recommend that. I'm guessing the OSM map editors had a reason to give A roads in UK the highway=motorway tag. If it's just this one particular A road, then it might be a mistake, but if all A-roads turn blue then it's UK wide and I wouldn't attempt to change that.
In Scenic this translates too:
motorway -> lvl1
trunk -> lvl2
primary -> lvl3
secondary -> lvl4
tertiary -> lvl5
unclassified -> lvl6
residential, road, living_street, service -> lvl 7Giving toll roads a different color, or at least mark them with a seperate dash color or outline, like unpaved roads, might be possible. I'll look into that. Good suggestion!
Thanks & Cheers,
Guido

Quote from Dae on 06.05.2025, 05:27It’s definitely not all A roads. I have lvl1 as blue and lvl2 green to match UK road sign colours. I’ve not found an A road that’s turned blue yet.
Ignore the massive font size - it displays properly in CarPlay
