Riding and Break times
Quote from Stresspuppy on 25.10.2023, 06:58What is used to distinguish between riding time and break time? I have a ride I did on Saturday that was about 400 miles and I made two stops that probably totaled 30-45 minutes. I think I forgot to stop the app when I arrived at my destination but I would think that would go towards breaks as I was sitting still. I must have start the next leg of my trip almost exactly 24 hours after I started that day as the ride shows 21.5 hours of riding time and 2.5 hours of break time, which is way off. This obviously causes my summary of actual saddle time to be askew.
What would cause this, and is there a way to fix it?

Quote from Guido on 25.10.2023, 07:49Location updates are used to determine if you are moving or not. If you are not moving for more than 2 minutes, Scenic will assume you paused (gas station, restaurant, cafe, etc.). Scenic will start tracking and moving again after you are more than 75 meters away from the location where the ride was paused. All pause time is considered break time.
Having said that, if you go inside somewhere, location updates lose accuracy and your location can "jump around". If this is extreme then this "jumping around" could be seen as movement and the ride won't pause. To prevent this, you can manually pause the ride and choose "GPS OFF". This will also save battery. To manually pause a ride, tap the bottom bar (where you see time and distance to destination, and tap the pause button).
Fixing this ride is not possible from within the app. If you'd like I can do it directly in the database. To do that I would need the exact name of the ride, and than the break time you think it should be.
Hope this helps/explains. If not, please let me know if you have other questions. Happy to help.
Best regards and ride safe,
