Recording Issue with Offline Maps
Quote from blackhawk1618 on 02.06.2025, 10:03Last week, I was riding in Ladakh (northern India) and using Offline Maps (no internet) to record my routes. Initially, it worked fine, but after a while, the GPS stopped tracking and the map display went blank.
The first time, I had to stop and restart the recording. The second time, I had to force close the app and reopen it to get GPS tracking working again.
Has anyone else experienced this? Is it a known issue with Offline Maps or the GPS, especially in remote areas like Ladakh?

Quote from Guido on 02.06.2025, 10:08Have not heard that one before. Even if there was no map data, tracking should still continue.
It sounds as if Scenic was not receiving locations from the built in GPS receiver anymore. Maybe related to overheating of iPhone?

This issue was not related to iPhone overheating, as the temperature was below 3°C
Is there anything I can provide to help you investigate this issue further?

Quote from Guido on 02.06.2025, 12:50OK. Definitely not overheating. Not sure where to start debugging this as I have not seen it before and woulnd't know how to reproduce it. Please let me know if you keep experiencing this issue. At the moment, there are more urgent bugs I need to focus on, sorry.

I was using my iPhone when I encountered this issue, there was no CarPlay.
