Recalculate route without stopping ride tracking
Quote from CS_Ulf on 22.06.2020, 02:25I'm using Scenic since a couple of days and I'm really impressed.
What I miss is the possibility to recalculate the route with other parameters (e.g. modus fast instead of curvy) or even stop the current route and create a complete new one.
The only way I found so far is to stop the ride and start from scratch. But this means that I have several rides for the day (and thus the track for the day is split in several files). Is there a possibility to solve this Problem?
Thanks, Ulf

The only thing I really would like to do is to start another route while I am tracking. I already see that you were planning to incorporate this feature - will it be in the app in the foreseeable future? Thanx for all the effort you put in the app and the community.

Quote from Guido on 29.05.2023, 13:30It's already possible but it's a bit hidden:
- While navigating, tap the bottom bar (where you see time/distance to destination)
- In the panel that slides up, choose 'Pause'
- Now choose 'To main screen'
- This will take you back from the main/start screen where you now can select another route or destination. And then you can tap the 'Resume Ride' button.

Yes! Exactly what I needed. Works like a charm. The only thing that differs from your instruction is that after i've chosen another route, in the route-details I clicked 'Navigeer' and it returned to the map. Then there was no 'Resume Ride' button anymore (there was when I paused the track), instead there was the 'Start navigatie' button. It worked, the tracking continued.
Thanks for your quick reply.

Tnx

Quote from RichardW71 on 13.04.2024, 09:27Unfortunately, even though the dialog box stated something different, the tracking feature did not continue recording correct after switching, changing or cancelling the route. When I finished my ride today only the last few km’s were recorded. Are there known issues with the tracking-feature in version 3.5?

Quote from Guido on 13.04.2024, 09:33I didn’t get any other feedback on this so far. Are you using scenic in the background (or iPhone locked) perhaps? If so, scenic requires ‘’always’ location access. https://scenic.app/help/not-tracking-entire-ride-pause-resume-tracking/

Thanks for your quick response, I appreciate that. Location is set tot ‘always’, so that should not be the problem. Since it is an important function for me, I will do some testing later this week(end) and see what happens. If possible and if reproduced I will send some screen-recordings.
