Problems with Scenic 4

The highway number clues me in on what kind of road it is - country road, state highway, interstate, etc.
The other thing I noticed so far is that with all the new stuff on the route editing screen, too much of the map is obscured. Probably the entire bottom third of the map is blocked by all the buttons and boxes used for route planning. Then there are more buttons at the top. Maybe there could be a way of shrinking that stuff a little so more of the map shows.
If anyone has any advice for how to overcome these problems, I would be grateful.
